For most surfers, Ireland’s raw Atlantic power is something you watch on a screen.

The trip began before anyone even arrived. Natxo Gonzalez paddled into a Mullaghmore drainer so epic it instantly became one of the defining waves of his career.

For Kai Lenny and Leonardo Fioravanti, it was their first look at Mully with Conor Maguire on hosting duties to help navigate Ireland’s wild coast.

When a fresh pulse appeared on the charts, slab specialist Nathan Florence, Kai Lenny and Ben Larg, rolled dice on a notoriously fickle wave known as Rileys. This spot doesn’t offer many chances, but the ones it gives can change a surfer’s entire definition of a “good day.”
