Looks like that was a significant improvement.
Them tips they gave you are all fine and dandy but they didn’t tell you you need to Read the wave and see what’s its doing if the wave is breaking left your not going to go right ! Your ride will be over in 2 seconds surf with the way it’s breaking your riding will be longer and funner . The important thing people always miss is learning to read the waves once u get better at it your surfing will be super fun . Just guess when your on the beach watching the waves watch how they break and call it before it happens see if your right or wrong also watch how the ocean reacts when the good sets come rollin in .. I had people ask me where you learn to surf ? I said the ocean hahaha they couldn’t figure out how I was catching green waves before they even broke lol Why Everyone is staying put I’m paddling further out … I can see out in the Horizon what the waves are doing .. but watch out some times them bigger sets just trick you and dye out so u really need to pay attention ……. Tide surge and the tide pulling you out is always good signs some thing bigger is coming . See I prefer at my area low tide to high tide coming in is always better here high tide into low tide Sucks here on the south coast .
Well done
most of the time i do angled take off to stay in the center of the wave where the energy of the wave is , exept when the wave are really gutless but its hard to generate speed after that. I noticed your rail to rail speed pumping is done the wrong way, its not about how fast you pump ( it mainly depend on width of your board and the shape of it) you have to let your board go to at least the top center of the wave and then rinse and repeat , top , center , top, center you will go faster and therefore will be able to pump faster . What you doing in your vid is cheat pumping you only lift the top of your board and it not working really well since you stay in the bottom of the wave , and your board size/weight/volume dont work well with cheat pumping.
When you will manage that your next step is roller ( which is gonna be harder with your board , you will have to move your feet a lot) …
